Finding a New Place to Call Home

hallow blog post 2

Apartment hunting can be a pain in the ass.

You search on Craigslist, Zillow, and everything in between but somehow it feels like you are never really making progress.  You end up seeing the same apartments on every site because apparently every landlord in America feels the need to cross post.

Plus…can we talk about the ad pictures? I mean HOW misleading.

After 2 months of trying to find an apartment, I finally came across one that seemed bearable. So, I called the landlord to schedule a walk through and…let’s just say it fell short. The carpeting looked like someone died on it. The walls looked like they had NEVER been washed. And the kitchen had the most awkward layout.

I ran as fast as I could out of that place and never looked back.

Moral of the story: It’s a tricky business.

But it’s one of those things that is unavoidable, ya know? Everyone moves at some point in their life. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet.

My advice? Know what you are looking for.

For my sister and I, that meant 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, hardwood floors, off street parking and onsite laundry.  It took a couple of months but after a lot of searching and a little luck, we finally found a new place to call home.

Over the next few weeks I will share with you how I am beginning to tackle the decorating process. I have SOOOO many fun ideas and I am really excited to start posting and sharing the designs with you all!

Make sure you check back on Monday to get a tour of our new apartment! It’s pretty perfect.

Separately – I want to thank you ALL for the massive amount of support I have been shown so far. In just two days my first blog post has already had just under 150 views, which exceeded my expectations tremendously. I honestly expected to maybe get 20 views on my first post so I am feeling so much love from everyone who has taken the time to read, comment, like, or text me about it. Love you all and thanks for making the start to this new chapter amazing in everyway ❤
