Some Freelance Design Work

This weekend was hectic – to say the least – between trying to get myself in order, working on a client’s house, and doing my laundry, I barely made time to relax and have fun.

But I managed to squeeze some in, don’t you worry.

Friday night my boyfriend and I spontaneously drove to Allentown (2.5 hours away, mind you) to see one of our favorite bands play. The show was incredible and definitely worth the drive, but we probably should have gotten a hotel room for the night because we could barely keep our eyes open for the drive home. We rolled into the driveway at 2:30am. ZzZzZzZzZ.

Saturday was spent taking our little pup out to play and running some boring yet necessary errands. Later on that night we went out for dinner and then to see “The Accountant”. Over the past week I have heard so many good things about that movie, so we decided to go check it out for ourselves. If you haven’t seen it yet, I would definitely recommend it!

Sunday we went out for a late brunch at one of our favorite spots and then we ran even MORE errands. After that I went to my client’s house to help set up a few more things.

So how was your weekend? I hope you guys all made time to relax and have fun! Sometimes it can be a challenge but I think it is important to make the time so that you can recharge yourself for the week ahead.

Anyways I’m stalling…

Many of you probably saw my Instagram story from Friday afternoon so I thought today I would write my post about that. If you didn’t see my Instagram story, it was taken at one of my client’s homes, I spent Friday unpacking all of the products I had ordered for her home and setting them up. My Instagram story was just a behind the scenes of that madness. Seriously…cardboard and bubble wrap = EVERYWHERE.

Processed with MOLDIV

My client’s house used to be Tuscan themed but she has been working on phasing that out and making her home more “Vintage Modern”.

Think lots of mirrored furniture. Lots of metallics. Basically, very glam.

A few years ago she started working with an interior designer who helped her choose that theme. That interior designer helped choose all new paint colors for the walls and ceilings as well as all new furniture pieces. She even replaced a few lighting fixtures. But for whatever reason, the house was kind of just left apart, a lot of rooms were never fully completed.

That’s where I come in.

Many of you probably don’t know this but I actually have my Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. I even did a semester abroad in Florence, Italy where I studied Italian design. So, when my client reached out to me I was more than willing to help her in finishing up her home.

At this point it is mostly just staging that needs to be done to every room. Below you will see some of the design boards I made for her with my ideas for each room. Keep in mind that all of the large furniture pieces WERE NOT picked out by me, but the previous interior designer. I don’t want to take credit for someone else’s part in the design process.

With that, I will leave you to take a look at my staging designs. I have linked all of the products below for you:
